Mycelial Reverie

Mycelial Reverie
Mycelial Reverie is an original handcrafted wall piece created from Texas mesquite wood, integrating pyrography, resin, metal leaf, and holographic film.
The natural live edge shape forms the foundation for a layered composition of mushrooms, ferns, leaves, and sacred geometry patterns woven into the grain.
Burned linework through pyrography defines the structure of the piece, while resin, metal leaf, and holographic film introduce shifts in light and depth as the viewing angle changes. These elements move between organic and geometric forms, creating contrast between natural growth and precise pattern.
Inspired by fungal networks and interconnected systems in nature, the composition brings together mandalas, nautilus spirals, and botanical forms that flow across the surface. The mesquite wood anchors the piece with warmth and variation, making each section distinct. The mushroom forms in this piece were inspired by photographs my brother captured during his travels, bringing real-world textures and variations into the composition.
