Over the last few weeks, as I worked on this piece following the loss of my father, I wasn't sure what I wanted to fill the middle space with. I found this beautiful jar of rocks at my father's place and knew this would be perfect.
We grew up at Pedernales Falls State Park, where my dad, Bill McDaniel, served as superintendent from 1990 to 2014. He hiked the primitive trail behind our house almost every day.
This piece is dedicated to his honor and memory. Love you, Dad.
