Beloved

Beloved
This original wall art was created on aspen wood sourced from Durango and layered with flowers and grasses gathered from the Hill Country greenbelt with help from my niece. My nephew assisted with the resin pour, and each of them contributed imagery to the design: a mockingbird, a tiger swallowtail, and a ruby throated hummingbird, honoring the meaning of my brother’s name, David, which means beloved. The piece incorporates pyrography, alcohol ink, colored pencils, gold leaf, resin, and a varnish finish, weaving family presence into material and form.
