Texas mesquite and maple come together through a river of gold and opal resin, with smaller pools of opal woven throughout the natural grain.

Layers of pattern, color, and reflection move across the surface, revealing different elements as the light and viewing angle change. The result is a light-responsive piece that continually shifts in depth and detail.

The panel began in June and remained in my studio for several months before I returned to complete it. Its evolution became part of the work itself, shaped through fire, time, and transformation.
